This book is a must read for entrepreneurs, product managers and C-Level managers.I read the book at a time when I needed it’s inspiration as I’m currently looking for a product manager to my Start Up.
I have learned a lot on which type of a person I should look for.
Yonatan wisely manages to peal the layers of this so important profession.
He does this with day to day samples from the heart of the Start up nation.
The book is breaking down the building blocks that form the Product Manager’s profession.
With the help of a versatile professional and personal background combined with real life case studies, it explains very well the psychology of fear behind exploring ideas that go against the flow. Hence, “The other ideas”.
Yonatan’s artistic background adds color to the book and emphasize the similarities between Product Management world and art.
It only hit to me half way reading this book that a good Product Manager is after all an artist that creates stuff.
This book is a trigger for entrepreneurs to get back to the secret folder where we keep all the crazy ideas and do something with them!
I re-explored mine this morning.
Some parts of this excellent book might not be revolutionary or new to the reader. in some parts of the book I said to myself, “…yea I know that” Or “…yea this is obvious, I would do the same” but when you finish the book you understand Yonatan has managed to gather the perfect mixture of thoughts, feelings, case studies and self-experience to create a Product Manager must have handbook.

As a marketer, I spend a lot of time working on improving various aspects of my trade, improving the creative process is a key factor for anyone let alone marketers.
The problem is many books I have read on the subject were nothing but fluff with many theories and nothing concrete, but not "The Other Ideas" this book is not only a great read, literally couldn't put it down, but its full of insight you can actually implement. If you are looking for a book that's both riveting and will leave you questioning your preconceptions of creativity and fuel you with excitement and a practicle toolset to take your creativity to the next level, this book is the one!
This is a must read for anyone building a product. Written amazingly simple and has fantastic examples to back up the methods. Very easy to apply to day to day work in multiple fields.
