The Relief Zones (RZ’s) are billed as a place of refuge for American citizens, but in reality, they are hell on earth.
The United Federation, the new world’s multinational government, created the RZ’s as a way to control the world’s population. They are advertised as safe havens, flush with food and medical care. Instead, they are hotbeds of pestilence, violence, and agony. Self-reliant people all around the world, nicknamed “Bohemians,” see through the governments rouse. Preferring to control their own fate, they resist the government’s urgings to resettle in the RZ’s.
Amy, her husband Tom, and their daughter Kayla, live in rural America. Life’s new reality has its challenges but they are determined not to leave their home. One by one, they watch their neighbors abandon their community for the promise of the RZ. Content with their choice to stay put, the small family tries to live as normally as possible before Tom is killed during a botched robbery. Distraught and vulnerable, Amy and Kayla remain determined to stick it out. They manage for months until a group of soldiers inform them that remaining outside of the RZ is no longer an option. Forced to comply, their nightmare begins.
In the RZ, the girls encounter another Bohemian named Jake, who has something waiting for him beyond the slums. Equally determined to leave the RZ, they team up to attempt their escape. Their path to freedom will be dangerous; failure means certain death. Can they get out? Is there any hope to be found beyond the RZ? Amy, Kayla, and Jake refuse to believe otherwise.
Dark Triad Genesis is the first in writer Mark W. Church’s planned trilogy about a very different America and brave individuals trying to escape tyranny and oppression.

When I started reading this, it's story line grabbed me, I couldn't put it down! It is very well written and the characters are well developed. I could put myself in these situations. I really like the descriptive style of Mark Church and can't wait for the follow up to this trilogy. It's an easy read and will get your heart racing at times, other times you can see this happing in these uncertain times we live in today. Do yourself a favor and start this adventure into what's left of our world after WWIII.Product details

This book leaves you with a since of "What If". "What if" this actually happened? "What if" this happened and my own survival skills weren't up to par? But, it also gives you the hope that in the mix of chaos and destruction, there are good people in the world, no matter what happens, and these people are willing to help at all costs. Dark Triad Genesis is an excellent read! I look forward to the next part of the trilogy.
What a thrilling book -- from beginning to end, it kept me totally engrossed! Written with the author's knowledge of the probable aftermath of an EMP attack, the desperate scenarios the characters endured in the book were very plausible, which made the story very gripping. The main characters were very well developed and easy to imagine were real through their extremely challenging situations. Yet even with the bleak circumstances they were in, and the evil people they had to confront to survive, the good side of human nature and the strength of the family bond were very clear throughout the book, which made the story even more compelling. I really enjoyed and highly recommend Dark Triad - Genesis, and look forward to the continuation of the story in Mark Church's next book!
Had me hooked from cover to cover! Cannot wait for the second book to come out! The characters really came to life for me and, unfortunately, it was easier than it should be to imagine a similar fate for our world in the not-so-distant future. Thanks, Mark Church, for an excellent read!
Dark Triad Genesis is well written, easy to read and visualize, and scarily thought provoking as to how the power of government and people can control and destroy mankind and that total government reliance is not to be trusted. The characters range from, the good, the bad and the ugly and you will find yourself not able to put the book down as you root for the good to survive and overcome the bad/ugly. I am from Missouri and especially enjoyed being able to visualize landmarks and areas referenced throughout the story. It's easy to become invested in the characters and root for their survival. I'm ready for the second volume to continue following their journey in hopes of the good prevailing.
I thought the book was excellent. My friend recommended this book, I normally would not read this type of book, but I am so glad I did. It was an easy read, and so good.......It was so hard to put down, and when I did, I would try to guess what would happen next. The book really does get you thinking, what if this did happen, what if we had to live our life that way, could we survive, would we want to......... I would recommend this book, actually I have. I gave my book to my boss to read. I cant wait until the next one comes out, to find out what happens to all the characters. I will be waiting and watching for it, that is for sure!!!!!!
I really enjoyed Dark Triad. It does a good job presenting the world as the "globalist" and many of the left see the country and the world's population as well as their vision of the future. They see themselves as agents of good when in fact they are the harbingers of evil. The plot is a good one and in many ways, you could see this story unfolding in real life the way the author lays out. Dark Triad reminds me of a book called Patriot Dawn, another excellent book.
Dark Triad is a great read! I enjoyed it so much that I tried to read it slowly to make it last as I always do when reading a great book. But it just kept getting better and finally I had to finish it this weekend and can't wait for the next book in this amazing trilogy. This is a very interesting perspective on what the world could be like after a third world war. Much to my surprise it ends up in the St. Louis/Ozarks area which just intrigued me even more thanks to my St. Louis roots and familiarity with the Ozarks region. Guess it's time to go back to my romanic trilogies to which I am accustomed; but, comparatively speaking, they are a letdown after reading the first book of the Dark Triad!
